Metropolitan map & directions to Salem Massachusetts

From Boston - Follow either US Rt. 1 North or Rt. 93 North to Rt. 128, then travel Rt. 128 North until Exit 25A in Peabody. At bottom of exit, take right on to Rt. 114. Passing through first traffic light, merge into left hand lane and continue to follow all road signs for Rt.114 East heading into Downtown Salem. (Riley Plaza).

At main intersection, with Post Office on immediate right, stay in middle lane and head straight thru lights on to Derby Street.

Follow Derby Street and continue thru one set of traffic lights (where you'll see fire station on left), and at next intersection - -with South Harbor parking garage on right corner - take right onto Congress St.

From the North

(1) Travel either Rt. 93 South or Rt. 95 South to Rt. 128, then take Rt.128 N to Exit 25A. Stay on 114 East, following signs for Downtown Salem


or . . .

(2) travel Rt. 1 South and take exit for Rt 114 East in Peabody. Follow signs for Rt.114 East into downtown Salem (Riley Plaza). At main intersection, with Post Office on right, head straight thru lights on to New Derby Street.

or

(3) travel Rt. 1A South through Beverly and over Salem-Beverly bridge. Following signs for Rt. 1A South, take left onto Winter St. then right at Salem Commons onto Washington Sq. North.

Continuing around Salem Commons, Hawthorne Hotel will be on left. Go straight thru traffic lights and down one block, staying in left lane. At stop sign, Rt. 1A South will bear right, but you'll want to continue straight thru intersection. South Harbor Parking garage will appear on right corner and immediately afterwards, in a brick red building, the Grapevine Restaurant will appear on right, with restaurant parking to right of building.

From the West / South

Take Rt.128 North to Exit 25A. Follow signs for Rt.114 East through Peabody into downtown Salem (Riley Plaza).At main intersection, with Post Office on right, remain in middle lane and continue straight thru lights on to New Derby Street. Follow thru one set of lights (fire station on left), onto Derby St. and at following intersection - -with South Harbor parking garage on right corner - take right onto Congress St.

By Commuter Rail / MBTA

Departing North Station, take the Ipswich or Rockport train and get off at Salem Station. The Grapevine restaurant is a 15 minute walk from station. Exit up the stairs and cross street past small rotary onto Washington St..  Walk to main downtown intersection at Riley Plaza and take left onto New Derby St. Follow three blocks before taking right onto Congress St.

From New York City:

Follow Route 95 North into New Haven Connecticut, and then 91 North into Hartford. In Hartford, get on Route 84 East and travel until Mass Turnpike East (Route 90 East). Take Mass Pike East to Route 128N/Rt 95North. Route 95N and Route 128N will double up until after Exit 44 - at which point stay left on Route 128 North and continue north until Exit 25A - exit ramp will place you onto Route 114 East. Follow into Downtown Salem. (Aprox. driving time 4 and 3/4 hours. Call ahead).
